Hi everyone,

We have Tivoli monitor which will monitor our queue managers, channels and other MQ objects, it triggers alert mail to recpective ID's whenever something goes wrong.

Recently we have come up with additional 2 MQ servers in which we wont be able to install Tivoli.

I wish to write a program which will monitor channel status and trigger alert when it goes to retry or stopped state. can you please share your experience on this, I need your suggestions to start wit this.

Regards,
Mahes

You might look at the Perl support pack for this, if you're at all comfortable with Perl.

There also is a way to have Tivoli use PCF messages to monitor a "remote" qmgr. Of course your monitoring is not as detailed as when a Tivoli agent is installed. Talk to your Tivoli Support Team.
