I have a process that receives messages on a sun solaris and then ftps those messages to an mvs box.

Is there any setting/table/or sample program in MQ that would remove the
characters from a message that are not usable? It seems like hex and octal characters sometimes get into the data and when we ftp it to our mainframe(ebcdic) it screws up the records that the mainframe is expecting.
Is there some table that has these types of characters in them that we
can use for editing purposes?

Hi,

Do you convert from ASCII to EBCDIC before carrying out the FTP?

In what mode do you FTP?

Regards

In this case the problem is not MQ related so there is no way that MQ could solve your problem.
