Hi,
Is there any advantage in terms of performance or db connection in using database nodes (DataInsert, Retrieve etc) over compute node. Apparently both performs the same task so I was thinking of any performance overhead in doing db interaction using compute node.

I seem to recall another thread on this very topic a couple of months ago.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Yes,
I did try to search first in the forum but could not find any relevance help. Can you please post the reference if you have for the earlier thread or any documentation from IBM telling the pros-cons.

They are similar, but not the same. The compute node can copy and modify the Root, Exception, and LocalEnvironment trees, but the Database node cannot. Use whichever node provides the best fit for what the message flow needs to do.
