Hi,
I am new to MB and would appreciate your advice on my situation...maybe a silly one and a long read!
My Environment
As 'administrator', I created a local machine user 'joey' on Windows XP and added it as a member of the Administrator, mqm and mqbrkrs group. I then installed WMQ 6.0.2.5 and MB6.1.0 Toolkit using 'joey' i.e. logged in as joey on local machine...no domain usage.
I created a Configuration Manager and a Broker on AIX 5.3. The user id to create these objects on AIX is 'joey'. joey is part of the mqm and all the 5 broker groups on AIX OS.
On Windows, I log in as 'joey' and deploy my bar file using the Toolkit onto the default execution group associated with the Broker on AIX OS which is running under 'joey' id.
Everything is fine!
My Question
If I were to remove the user 'joey' from the Administrator group on Windows XP, would I still be able to continue to work with my Toolkit and manage the toolkit and broker environment without any issues. What impact is possible due to the removal of 'joey' from the administrator group
I feel that there shouldn't be an issue, as I had added 'joey' to the Administrator group to allow me to install the Toolkit in the first place. However, I am hesitant to remove 'joey' from the administrator group fearing that this may compromise the environment and I would have to go through the entire process again!!!
Please advice... |

if you have created the broker/configmgr using "joey" then you can expect issues. _________________ IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere MQ V6.0

There is no relationship between the Windows group membership and the AIX group membership. |
