HI,
We are running MQ v6 on all (Dev - Prod) our z/Linux guests and using MQ Explorer v6 on my windows box to administer it.
Now we are migrating MQ on Linux to v7 starting Dev. Can i install MQ Explorer v7 on my windows box to administer MQ on Dev and still keep the Explorer old version (v6) to administer MQ on other guests running v6?
Thanks,
Chaitu |

Why can't you use the v7 Explorer to administer v6 queue managers?
I've not tried it but am interested to discover it doesn't work. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

We had a call with IBM and we were told the old version of Explorer cannot administer Queue Manager on v7. I assumed the vise-versa also to be true, like Explorer v7 cannot administer v6 Queue Manager.
Please correct me if i am wrong. |

Well no; there are too many new features in v7 for that to work. I'm unclear what would prevent a v7 Explorer managing v6.
Perhaps you should test it rather than just assuming it doesn't work? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Of course it works.
MQ is famously backwards compatible. |
