I'm installing FP3 onto our MQ servers at present. Most servers are using 7.0.1.2 and on each of these servers I've tried to install FP3 I'm getting the following error....
11:44:03 Process 'C:\IBM\WebSphereMQ\bin\strmqcfg.exe' ended; exit code 0x00000000
11:44:03
11:44:03 amqicsdn.exe ending with RC 1603 (0x00000643)
11:44:03 ================= End of 'amqicsdn.exe' =================
I've seen a similar topic with the same error on a silent install of 7.0.1.1, it says it was solved and a server problem was the cause. It doesn't specify the server problem, however, that might be my problem I'm not sure. My problem is also a little different in that I'm not doing a silent install and I can successfully apply FP3 to other MQ servers that were at 7.0.1.1, mine only fails on servers that are at 7.0.1.2. I've done a fair amount of searching for solutions here and on IBM's own site and thought I'd raise a question here before I raise a PMR in case I'm really missing something.

Do a Google search for: RC 1603 (0x00000643) _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

This could be caused by getting old MQ dll being picked up. check whether you have more than one copy of :
amqxcs2.dll somewhere in the directory. |

Thanks for that suggestion Bruce. Googling that return code was, in fact, the first thing I did, however, I didn't find anything that seemed relevant to what I was experiencing. I'm uninstalling FP2 at the moment and going to install FP3 over 7.0.1.1 on this server to see if I have the same results as installs over servers that hadn't been patched to FP2.
Cheers
**Edit**
Reverting to 7.0.1.1 resolved the problem. My servers are obviously encountering some conflict between FP2 and FP3 when installing FP3 over FP2. As I only have a few servers on FP2 and I'm quite pressed for time, I'm just going to revert them to 7.0.1.1 and install FP3 over that.
Thanks to all that made suggestions. |
