Hi,

I had imported two BAR files (one Message Flow and one Message Set) from file system and deployed them in my Broker and I created the queues involved in the flow in my Queue Manager.

When i post a message in the input Queue, the message is picked by the flow, but i am not able to trace the message further. When i try to run the User trace command, I just get the Time Stamp in my trace file.

The Message Broker Version i am using is WMB5.0 and the MQ version is 5.3

What could be the issue for not getting the user trace? Is there any other way to trace this flow? I dont have the source code with me and I have only the BAR file available.

This is my Message Flow:

MQInput --> Filter --> FlowOrder --> Compute --> MQOutput
--> RCD --> Compute --> MQOutput

This is my flow design. Actually we dont have the source code of this flow, we just have the BAR file with us.

We are trying to trace this flow, but we just get the TimeStamp in User Trace. Also, i am not abe to see any errors in the System log.

You of course realise both of these products are out of support?

Sounds like the flow isn't running or isn't running in the execution group you think it is

Then how will you fix the problem once you get the trace working? I'm assuming here you're not running the trace as an intelectual exercise.

Though the lack of source code does explain why you've not migrated off the out of support platform....

My thoughts exactly. The only hope is that the trace reveals an environmental issue.

Finger and toes crossed and time to kiss a rabbits foot.

What did you do for this step?

Did you check to see if the trace properties were set correctly?

Did you run a message through the flow before pulling the trace? I ask because I've had people ask me to pull a trace of something that happened before tracing was turned on. Or for something that happened hours ago on a busy flow even with tracing turned on.
