We have always created our personal cert (ibmwebspheremqQMGR) requests and had them signed by a CA.

I was curious if i can simply issue the -cert -create and label it as such, and set to default.

Will this work. CAn i use a self created cert as my personal cert?

Still trying to get familiar with SSL sorry for the ignorance.

You can create a self-signed certificate and use it as the personal certificate, but you will have to distribute it to every other queue manager/client that will connect, which can be a nightmare if there is a lot of connecting infrastructure.

You can also create your own certification authority (see mq SSL docs in the security forum) or use open SSL to create your own certification authority...
