Hi, We have 10 MQ servers which is in Distributed environment, Out of 2 is in our data center and rest are in various client locations across country in which users are send and receive files from the same server . Now we have a proposal of keeping all MQ servers in same location where our Data centre resides. Though it's possible to move other server box to our data centre location it does make sense keeping all MQ servers in same location and asking client connect through RDC for accessing files. Plz suggest your valuable solutions so that I can make them realize well.

Thanks in advance.

I would say this really depends on a number of items.

1. Company resiliency/redundancy plan. (BAsed on clientelle you may be required to keep D/R locations available?

2. How many QMGR's per server?

3. How many active channels per QMGR?

4. What are the requirements of your backend API?

Generally, I like to keep things as simple as possible. If one QMGR can suit your needs run with it... (Perchange a small shell/batch script to run a SAVEQMGR every so often will suit your needs.

**Also depending on MQv, may be able to use this time to upgrade and migrating all clients to latest/greatest.

I generally don't prefer to run MQClient connections across WAN links.

But it depends on the WAN...

The subject of MQClient applications has been discussed many, many times here. It is a choice; and as with any choices, there are consequences.
