Hi,

I am using Broker 7.0 ...Is it mandatory to restart Broker when ever its QM Gets restarted ? i observed the broker connecting automatically when ever its Qmanager undergoes an restart....and the messages are getting picked by the broker.as usually...i am writing some monitoring scripts to monitor my broker....as the broker getting auto reconnected when ever its QM is up...is their any need to restart the broker when ever the QM under goes restart? Please suggest

You do not state what platform you are using but...

for windows it should be a matter of setting the Broker to auto restart but with the QM being a pre requisite.

not sure about other platforms but am fairly certain it will be something similar

Nathan,

Broker 7 on Linux certainly starts the QM if it is not already running. Well, it did the last time I started it from the toolkit running on the same system.
IIRC, starting the broker from the command, I recall seeing a message stating that the mqsistart process had detected that the QM was already running.

Thanks for your replies..

But can some please confirm whether the Broker 7.0 should also needs to be restarted or not when its Qm gets restart...I observed the broker getting auto connected with out restart when it QM undergoes an restart..

It probably doesn't strictly, technically, need to be restarted.

It's certainly a good idea to do so.
