We have a WMB v6 broker instance successfully running on a windows 2003 server for more than a year. It uses Oracle 10g as its database. We also have 2 user databases on Oracle 10g.

Recently the DBA's moved the broker database, AND the 2 user databases from their existing machines to different machines, and gave us the host/port details needed.

The database userids AND the DSN names still remain the same for all the 3 databases involved. The password for all the databases changed, along with the host names.

We updated the TNSNAMES.ora file with the changes and then stopped the broker and issued mqsichangebroker(for broker database password change), followed by mqsisetdbparms (for the 2 user databases). Then we restarted the broker. But the broker doesn't seem to be working.

When I issued a mqsichangetrace command on a EG/flow that uses the user databases, it threw an error saying userid/password are invalid.

It issued a BIP2321E, followed by BIP2322E, followed by BIP8040E.

TNSPING works fine, along with sql*net.
ODBC connectivity also works fine.
The list of access permissions for the database userids remain the same on the new system too.

Any clues as to what could have gone wrong ?

Thanks in advance.

ydsk.

Try logging out and logging back in, if you haven't already.

Also make sure that the new oracle profile is being executed as part of the user profile.

Thaks Jeff.
Tried login already, but no use.
Will try the oracle profile stuff.

All the 3 databases are on Solaris 10.
Broker is on Windows 2003 server.

Thanks

Oh, sorry. Missed that it was Windows.

I don't think there's a specific profile for Oracle on Windows like there is on Unix.

Try rebooting. It's Windows after all. The DSNs might not have been reloaded after you changed them or there could be some other kind of caching going on that needs to be cleared.

Jeff,

We restarted the broker, and also restarted the machine.
But nothing worked.

Thanks

what fix pack that you are running with ?

is it possible for you to build a small flow which could connect to one of the DB and see if it could fetch or insert data. just for testing purpose

No, because we can't deploy anything to the broker. Not even trace works because the trace instruction also tries to interact with the broker database.

Just came to know that the DBA created an incorrect userid (not he one used by broker database), and that caused the whole issue.

thanks
