hi ,

in WMB 6.1 everywher they are using as such

declare name char THE( SELECT T.* FROM Database.TABLE1 AS T) .

May i know what s the need of this THE using in the above esql declaration .

Who are "they" and where is "everywhere"?

Potentially none; that's very loose code. You'll find the function described here along with all the other broker functions.

Is it possible to declare as such mentioned below in WMB 6.1 ?

declare name char THE( SELECT T.* FROM Database.TABLE1 AS T) .

I did nt tried . since i am having only v 5.0 . can u pls tell us is t possible to do ?

Then you need the WMBv6.1 InfoCenter, which has 1 convienient section on what's new for this release.
