Wanted a survey of AIX Power6 WMB v7 users. How many cores in your AIX Power6 production environment and how many TPS do you see per core in prod? I realize the TPS is very dependent on the actual flow designs.

The best we've seen so far is ~45 TPS per core on an SMT-configured Power6 AIX 2 core system. We think we might get 125 TPS per core on 8 cores with two kernal threads per core (1,000 TPS altogether).

Please comment on your actual config.

Sorry for the double post. Maybe in my quest to be concise, I did not fully explain the intent. I am seeking comments from WMB admins and developers as to how many cores they run, if they are Power6 or Power5, and what kinds of message rates they see during peak load.

How about up to 900 transactions per minute in a single eg? (we have 8 egs running and this flow does an aggregation with 5 branches) lpar with 4 cores

If you are looking for a limit there is none by default. You do have to benchmark it. Every flow is different, every client is different
