I tried MQparms MQ6 install and got a 1614 error. (could not open). But I tried opening the installer.msi manually and it opened OK. I postulate that the installer that it couldn't open was for the Eclipse prerequisite. It happened to be missing from the prerequisite folder (probable earlier UNZIP error). My question is: If the Eclipse installer and the Java JDK which it depends on are both present in the installation media directory structure, might I expect that the silent install via MQParms would automatically take care of the Eclipse and Java? I did not see anything in the QB on this subject and I will try it anyway on Monday but I'm looking for an earlier opinion on this subject. |

I normally do a separate install of Eclipse, followed by the install of WMQ... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Is this protocol (doing a manual install of Eclipse) followed by a silent install via MQParms? And do you do this because silent install via MQParms does not take care of the Eclipse and Java? |

Silent scripted install of Eclipse (see HERE for the relevant command), then the silent install of WMQ. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Thank you very much for this information. Unfortunately, it may be the case that the silent install of Eclipse will not work for MQ6 - I did not find the same information in MQ6 QB that you referenced in the QB for MQ7. I need a silent install of the Eclipse/Java followed by WMQ6. Do you think that a script that invoked a silent install of Eclipse/Java from the MQ7 installation package followed by a silent install of WMQ6 via MQParms would work? |

Doh! Sorry, habit took me to the V7.0 Info Centre...however, in the V6.0 one is THIS (as I suspected, as the Eclipse-based MQExplorer was introduced in that version) _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Thanks again! Eclipse itself has a prerequisite (Java). Although the QB MQ6 section you referenced does not mention Java I hope that it just takes care of the Java automatically during the silent install of Eclipse. Thanks again for all the help. |
