Hello All,
Just a quick one, could be a silly one as I haven't tried inserting images during discussion...How can I insert an image in the Forum ?
I see the [img]http://image_url[/img] IMAGE TAG but it asks for the image url on http !
Would it work if my image is on desktop say 'image1.bmp' and when I open it on internet browser say 'mozilla firefox' it gives url as "file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/Desktop/image1.bmp"
Would this URL work between those tags?

What makes you think that a URL local to your desktop, will be visible to the rest of the world? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Nope ! But copies/an instance of that could make it..using some URL !
It would have been good if I could upload an image in the Forum (somewhere) and that link could have been used as an URL !
You can give me the better solution that I am seeking for !!!

I asked because sometimes for the user it becomes easy to put the image in front of you and then ask/clarify/suggest the question/doubt/answer !
As far as maintenance is concerned, the contents would become bulk in size... I know.
I did see one post in this forum long ago but neither I remember the Post Subject nor the name of poster !

It's really a matter of whether or not the forum wishes to pay for and maintain storage of images.
They probably want to retain the space to store messages rather than images... A picture may be worth a 1000 words, but it may not be worth an extra gigabyte a month...
Nothing prevents you from using things like yfrog or imageshack or etc. etc. etc. etc. to upload your image and then post it into a thread here. |

key factors to not consider doing are: storage, open invite for real shocking images posted, backup times, ....

I understand the gravity of the matter and there wont be any shocking images from my end.
Thanks for the suggestions !
Appreciate it. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |
