Reading the documentation about automatic MQ client reconnection, suggests that it only works if the queue manager is ended with endmqm -r.

I had hoped it would work on HA failover and other non-intentional queue manager outage situations but this seems not to be the case.

Is anyone using automatic client reconnection and what situations have you found it useful in production?

In these types of failure the queue manager does not get a proper chance to iterate through all of its client connections, informing each one.

In these more severe failure cases (ie. the general case) it is down to the client itself to detect failure and attempt a reconnect, which it can do using the new Conname lists in v7.
