Hi,

Can anyone suggest any best practice/logic followed to set the SEGNUM field of IDoc Control header. I am transforming an EDIFACT message to IDoc message in my scenario.

this you have to get it from SAP Team as well, as it belongs to control headers and an inbound to SAP, get in touch with your SAP members and understand about it.

Typically the segnum is just a simple sequence, however you also have to fill the seglevel and the parent segnum... So yes your best advice is to ask your friendly SAP ALE SME.
