Hi All,
We are facing a problem in bringing up the queue manager automatically after the reboot of 2000 server..
Operating system : 2000 server with service pack 4
MQ version : 6.0.2.1
The OS will be rebooted every week end as part of their maintenance activity....
Usually the queue manager used to come back automatically once the server comes up....
Two weeks back there was an update in 2000 server, from there on MQ queue manager is failing to pick automatically..

I can see a FDC file generated with the below details:
|[b] Probe Id :- RM185002 |
| Application Name :- MQM |
| Component :- rrmInitRepos |
| SCCS Info :- cmd/remote/amqrrmfa.c, 1.414.1.21 |
| UserID :- MUSR_MQADMIN |
| Process Name :- D:\WebSphere MQ\bin\amqrrmfa.exe
| Major Errorcode :- rrcE_MQCONN_FAILED |
| Minor Errorcode :- OK |
| Probe Type :- MSGAMQ9508

MQM Function Stack
rrmMain
rrmRepository
rrmInitRepos
xcsFFST

Google directed me to a fix pack 6.0.2.6, but I am not clear but not sure will it resolve my issue

From the logs :

Mr Google suggests this.

Price you pay for applying maintenance to the OS but not to the product - that's a back version of WMQ. And soon to be out of support of course.

I agree with you .. at this stage this server has other dependend application running on. And we also migrating to 7.x . As it a prof box we want it to run till we migrate to the latest.
All I want here is a solution for time being. Advice me if you have any.

That fix Vitor mentioned appears to be for iSeries and not for Windows at all.

That said, you're still much better off applying 6.0.2.6.

If you can't do that, you need to either live with the issue, or open a PMR.

Quite, but the technote implies the same fix is in a number of platform fix pacs including 6.0.2.6 for Windows:

Fixes are availableWebSphere MQ V7.0 for i5/OS Fix Pack 7.0.0.2
WebSphere MQ V7.0 Fix Pack 7.0.0.2
WebSphere MQ V6.0 Fix Pack 6.0.2.6
WebSphere MQ V7.0 Refresh Pack 7.0.1.0.
WebSphere MQ V7.0 Fix Pack 7.0.1.1
WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 for i5/OS Fix Pack 7.0.1.1
WebSphere MQ V7.0 Fix Pack 7.0.1.2
WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 for i5/OS Fix Pack 7.0.1.2

What application can be dependent on WMQv6.0.2.1? To the point that it will fail if you apply v6.0.2.6 (or 6.0.2.?

There's clearly precident for applying maintenance even if it is a prod box, because someone applied that update to Windows two weeks back....

Or roll back the update to Windows.

Thanks for you time on this...

There are other vendor middleware products already running on this 2000 server, At this stage we dont have any problem in applying fixes... if it resovles the issue...

But one thing that i want know here is what makes the below error... as i need to give a clarfication to the stake holders before i apply it, i didnt find any stright answer which makes them happy at this moment...

in FDC i can see the below which forcing me to find any clues for the issue... if any one of you faced the below please advice me the solution....

----------}xcsGetEnvironmentString rc=xecE_E_ENV_VAR_NOT_FOUND

----------} xstAttachSharedMemSet rc=xecX_E_NO_SUCH_EXTENT
----------{ xcsReleaseThreadMutexSem
----------} xcsReleaseThreadMutexSem rc=OK
---------} xcsConnectSharedMemSet rc=xecX_E_NO_SUCH_EXTENT
----------}xcsAttachSharedSubpool rc=xecX_E_NO_SUCH_EXTENT

Then you need to raise a PMR & get a comment from IBM. Certainly if you want more information about this....

.... then you need people who can see the source code that produces this trace. For obvious reasons that's IBM.
