Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

if you do not find any error messages here (including error messages related to channel sequence number problems), why do you reset the channel then? this may screw up things or cause subsequent problems.

Have you also checked the receiving queuemanagers error logs?

Destination queuemanager 5.3 is pretty old and out of service.

Source queuemanager 6.0 - which fixpack? (use dspmqver) i hope you are not running 6.0.0.0 ....

Do you use channel heartbeats?

Sounds like a law enforcement kind of problem. Striking messages in any queue would be a crime.

There were problems with 6.0.0.0. Please upgrade to 6.0.2.9 and let us know if the problem still occurs.

if you do not see any errors, not on the receiving and not on the sending end, its most likely up to 6.0.0.0 as this was a real buggy version.

upgrade test environment first and verify your application / Mq is stillw orking, then upgrade production.

you could start tracing, debugging and whatever, or open a pmr with IBM, but the only thing they will tell you is to upgrade first. so go ahead.

This reply from the dis chs(*) command means that the channel is in INACTIVE status. You should not reset in any way. Just issue the start channel command.
It could well be because your release was somewhat buggy that channel triggering doesn't quite work as expected. This should have been fixed in any of the subsequent fixpacks. You DO NEED to upgrade.
