Hi All,
I have a Windows 2000 SP4 desktop where Queue Manager is installed. When this queue manager was installed it was created under a particular domain (CTI_SERVERS) and a particular user account(mqmadmin). Recently this desktop has been moved to a different domain (DATADOMAIN). The new user name to log into this desktop is ATIAdmin.
When I am trying to connect to the queue manager on this desktop through MQ Explorer it is popping up an error window which says - "Access not authorized. You are not authorized to perform this operation. (AMQ4036)". The error log has the following entry.
AMQ8077: Entity 'atiadmin' has insufficient authority to access object
'CTIDEV20B.CTI.QM'.
EXPLANATION:
The specified entity is not authorized to access the required object. The
following requested permissions are unauthorized: connect
ACTION:
Ensure that the correct level of authority has been set for this entity against
the required object, or ensure that the entity is a member of a privileged
group.
Can you please help me how to resolve this problem. I am quite new to using MQ so if you are giving me a resolution please give me a complete details of step(s).
Thanks in Advance

Speak with your Windows Admins in regard to cross-domain trusts... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

You may also have to rerun the MQ config wizard, specifying the new account. This resets the user on some COM stuff needed by MQ.

Hi,
Can you please specify what you mean by rerun MQ config wizard.
I have checked MQ Series Default Configuration through MQ First Steps and it says "Default configuration can not be set up as this computer is using a TCP/IP address assigned by a DHCP server."
Thanks

You mean you don't have a static IP for the server? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Using the time honoured principle that repeating the same question will somehow yield a different answer.

Be fair - he's not understanding or reading the documentation (or error boxes) either. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi,
I dont understand whether this is a forum for only those who know all or a forum where you can get help from those who can help. If one is supposed to read the books and understand everything then I dont see any use of the forums. I am sorry but I find some of the reply postings very rude.
I am not understanding what to do - that is fairly clear- it seems you guys are not reading my post clearly as I have clearly written I am new to MQ.
As to what I have done till now - I have added "ATIAdmin" user under mqm group through Local users and Logs under computer management.
Please dont reply to my posting if you havent clear answers to my queries. I will find other ways to resolve.
Thanks

Further to my previous posting the desktop where MQ is running is a DHCP server. It does NOT have a fixed IP.
Thanks
