HI All,

Does anyone know if:

Are both QM V7 and Broker V7 MUST reside on same box?
Can they live on 2 diff boxes?

Did anyone tried to create a broker not on same box as QM?

Thanks,
Moshe

As one requirement for Broker is to be able to read data from a WMQ Queue (non application/flow ones) AND AFAIK, Broker is not built using the Client WMQ Libraries, my guess is no, it won't work.

The MQInput Node does not allow the specification of a particular Queue Manager thus following the normal MQ (in Server mode connections) that MQGets are done locally.

Besides, which machine are you going to run the mqsicreatebroker command on?
This creates the queues and then all the data structures etc for the broker. (aka the DB tables for pre V7 versions).
Again this assumes that the Broker is going to run on the same system as the Queue Manager.

What gave you the idea that this was possible?

You could always submit this as a product improvement suggestion to IBM.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

They should be on same box only...

using mqsicreatebroker command you can create the queue manager[if queue manager does not exist] on same box. Also there is no options provided in this command to create queue manager on remote server..
