Whilst restoring a config manager I am getting the following error:
"mqsirestoreconfigmgr CCM1COA1 -d /opt/wbimb/home/wmqiuid -a CCM1COA1_100625_095316.zip
BIP1079I: Replacing repository for 'CCM1COA1' with archive '/opt/wbimb/home/wmqiuid/CCM1COA1_100625_095316.zip'...
BIP1170S: Failed to restore the repository for the Configuration Manager 'CCM1COA1'.
At least one file in the Configuration Manager's repository could not be restored. The restore operation was rolled back and the Configuration Manager is in the state it was in before the restore command was issued.
Check that the Configuration Manager is not running, and that the file specified is a valid Configuration Manager archive. Check that the current user has authority to read the archive and write to the directory described by the work path. If this problem persists contact your IBM support center."
I have checked that the config manager isn't running.
I have tried this restore on another lpar and this works fine, so the backup is a valid config manager backup. My guess is that there is some file system that isn't mounted correctly.
So I am wondering if its possible to run a service trace the broker command mqsirestoreconfigmgr (or a similar trace, possibly an undocumented one).
This is on a unix aix platform using message broker runtime 6.0.0.3, mq 6.0.2.1 with an oracle9i as the broker db.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Thanks for the response and help. I ended up raising a pmr, and it tunred out to be a lack of disk space. However I have posted their response to the same question when raised in a pmr, as below:
Hi,
thanks for the update. Re storage requirements, you need to ensure that there is free storage that equates to at least twice the size of the backup available (because mqsirestoreconfigmgr takes a copy of the backup before restoring it so that it can recover if the command fails).
Assuming that you do have sufficient storage then I would suggest capturing the following two traces :
(1) truss -a -f -o pmr88245.out mqsirestoreconfigmgr CCM1COA1 -d /opt/wbimb/home/wmqiuid -a CCM1COA1_100625_095316.zip
(2) a utility trace using the following steps :
a. export MQSI_UTILITY_TRACE=debug
b. export MQSI_UTILITY_TRACESIZE=4096
c. run the mqsirestoreconfigmgr command
d mqsireadlog <BrokerName> -t -b mqsirestorecongimgr -f -o pmr88245.xml
e. mqsiformatlog -i pmr88245.xml -o pmr88245.txt |
