All:
In my current job I have a task to do a feasibility study on systems integration that would involve human workflow and message routing, message enhancement and transformations.
The task is:
1. To decide make or buy available products. For this I would need a template of questions to start with. I am sure many of you might have faced such task and I wonder if there is matrix/questionnaire which I can use it as a starting point to build up on.
2. If there is a buy decision, is there a questionnaire to select available products. I guess this I can get from any of the gartner reports or bit googling.
If you have any comparison matrix please let me know. I have less luck with #1 finding the right questions
Can you please help |

Isn't that the definition for an ESB? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Dunno. Is it? Is there an agreed definition of ESB? Does it include human workflow? Or is that part of BPM? Anyway, I thought ESB was the horse that won the Grand National at Aintree in 1956 when the Queen's horse Devon Loch, ridden by the now famous author Dick Francis, and sure to win, stumbled just a few hundred yards from the finish handing victory to the Enterprise Service Bus!!! While lots of system integration requirements are generic e.g. data transformation, support for multiple operating systems, routing etc. your requirements are your requirements and they are unlikely to be the same as my requirements. So, as with any IT project, document your requiremnts and put them in your questionnaire. _________________ Never let the facts get in the way of a good theory. |

Here I'd thought an ESB was an Extra Special Bitter that came in a bottle... |

Or your organization needs a feasibility study to determine if a feasibility study is even possible - given the lack of any definition. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
