I normally use a client channel definition table file when using the RfhUtil program (client). I set my set my MQCHLTAB and MQCHLLIB and environment variables to point to my installation and AMQCLCHL.TAB file and all works fine. However, I've noticed extra queue names showing up within the RfhUtil's Queue Name dropdown list. I cannot figure out where they are coming from.
I've tried renaming my AMQCLCHL.TAB file so as to hide it and verified by running the findmqmc program. Below is it's output:
~~~~~
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\ih03>findmqmc
@(#)findmqm V1.03 MQSeries Queue Manager find and list program - Jim MacNair (Mar 15 2005)
(C) Copyright IBM Corp, 2001,2003,2004
Local Queue Managers defined
No local queue managers have been defined
MQSERVER environment variable
MQSERVER environment variable is not set
client channel table (amqclchl.tab)
Reading channel table C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\AMQCLCHL.TAB
No channel table file found (C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\AMQCLCHL.TAB)
~~~~~
Now when I open RfhUtilc, all of my normal queue names are gone, leaving just these extra queue names. Of course none of them are able to connect to anything because the connection values are all wrong.
Does anyone know where the heck these things are coming from? |

Perhaps if you gave us some example names of these extra queues?
Also which version of RFHUtilc & WMQ. I accept you're not connected to any version of WMQ in the test configuration you describe but we might as well have all the possible culprits named. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Actually, I was not clear in my first post -- I'm seeing extra Queue *Manager* Names (not queue names).
The extra queue manager names I speak of are the names of valid queue managers within our company; however I'm not able to connect to any of them (mainly because I'm sure the connection information for them is wrong). Their name's are set following our shop's QMgr naming standards. The Queue managers in question reside on our AIX system and on an NT system. When using RfhUtil, I'll see double entries within the "Queue Manager Name" dropdown list for these queues - the *real* ones (which are read from the .TAB file and have valid connection information and thus work); and the extra entries that have connection information that I do not know where is being read from and do not work.
As indicated in previous post, I have attempted to isolate by renaming my AMQCLCHL.TAB to hide it. In absence of a source for connection information, I would expect the "Queue Manager Name" dropdown to be empty, yet it is not. There are 7 entries, all with valid looking names for our company, but none that are define properly.
Does anyone know how RfhUtil builds the list of information that is displayed within the "Queue Manager Name" dropdown?
Below are version specifics:
------------------
RfhUtil V7.0.2 (Client)
------------------
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.0.0
CMVC level: p000-L050519
BuildType: IKAP - (Production) |
