All,
Is it my imagination or has the traffic / posting at mqseries.net dropped off over the last 18 months?
It used to be that if I skipped 3-4 days then there would be a huge number of unread posts. Now it is a trivial amount.
Did all the MQ people get laid-off? Or are they just too busy these days? Or is there another MQ forum / blog / social thingy that I don't know about?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Regards,

Or there's a Facebook group all the youngsters are using that's too cool for us old-timers.
I have noticed it seems to have got quieter in here. I'd toyed with the idea that everyone got bored and wandered off when I took that week's holiday, but dismissed it as narcessistic. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Actually while on the subject of MQ forums, I've been away from MQ for a while but have just returned .
And I was wondering:
(1) Whats happened to the Vienna listserver
(2) Whats happened to the MQUK User Group web site
(3) and as Roger asks, is there another forum somewhere? _________________ Never let the facts get in the way of a good theory. |

This still exists.
As to another forum somewhere, sure there probably are a few. There's definitely some newsgroups/webforums that are official IBM and hosted through devworks/etc.
There's probably a fair bit of mqseries discussion on WAS forums and on DBA forums of various kinds.... |

The UK MQ user group is still going. Not sure what's happened to the web site though. |

I'm going to speculate that the economy slowdown in the US and elsewhere resulted in some layoffs and project delays earlier in the year. Yes, I noticed the decline in posting, too.

The Vienna listserver is still active, but with low volume. Its been like that for a few years though. Every once in a while you get a day with a bunch of activity.
There are a lot of people subscribed, waiting, because a queuestion never goes unanswered long.
I would guess activity here and there will pick up next year as MQ 6.0 goes out of support and more people have to deal with MQ systems that otherwise have just been running. _________________ Peter Potkay

Could it possibly be that the longer this site is up, the more posts it accumalates, and dare I say, the Search button actually gets used more often and answers questions that have already been posted?!
Visits to this site would be a better indication of traffic than # of new posts. _________________ Peter Potkay

Seriously? Isn't it far more likely all the potential posters have been abducted by aliens? Or wiped out by the killer bunnies? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Sorry...
Moving "Search Button Gets Used" down the Most Likely To Happen list so its underneath "Car that Runs On Water", but still above those flying pigs! _________________ Peter Potkay

Maybe it only seems like traffic is off. Perhaps Mehrdad can generate a by-month report for the last few years... _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
