Hi All
Need help in invetstigating a issue happened in our organisation.
I have a Mq installed with MQ v6.0.2.5 for more than a year was running fine.
When the server had a eTrust secuity upgrade.
some of the Q's got deleted without any manual intervention.
Upon ivestigating the Issue, i found the product is beta license and it is asking us to renew the license.
QQ: Is there a possibilty of mq object like queues gets deleted autonmatically due to license issue or other posibble ways.. |

I'm not aware of such a facility but once you're renewed the license you can raise a PMR and ask.
In general terms, you should look to move off the beta code onto the GA as soon as possible. By it's nature, beta code isn't as stable and could have undocumented features like queues disappearing under moments of stress.
I'd also question the "without any manual intervention" statement - how do you know that? Is it simply because no-one's stood up and said "sorry about that"? How many people can use mqm? How secure is the queue manager? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

And that wasn't my point. My point is that given you're the designated admin how many other people have access to the mqm user id or group?
It's statistically far more likely these queues have been deleted without your knowledge than you've encountered a bug of this severity. Though given this is beta code that can't be ruled out. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

People from my team have access, only 3 member is allowed to admin task and nobody else can login to server. Also we have deployed a cert authentication for connecting to MQ from any app( like weblogic or java ).
No one outer world can access, since for accesswe need a key to get authenticated.
Also i wonder, how we got a beta package in ur org..since we have premium account with IBM.
Some thing wrong with the packaging Team, which does the sysV packaging and give us for the use.
And also our company has very strict policy on software licenses.
This issue is still a mystery for me in debugging aspects.
only God knows what went wrong..
And Thanks for your Reply Vitor |

Maybe, but you would suspect a lower level of panic from the average admin in that case.... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

So that does pretty much rule out the manual intervention line I must agree.

It's very odd indeed, given how long v6 has been GA. I think you need to speak to these people. Certainly you're not going to get far with a PMR, despite premium status, raising it against the beta.

While I'd agree He probably works for IBM, I'm not convinced He works the support desk.
I think (given your security) we're left with bug. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
