Hi there,

I am a bit confused. I have no trigger monitor installed. As soon as messages arrive in the xmitq the channel starts and messages are sent over. I really have a blackout ... what the hell is starting the channel?

EDIT: Maybe the channel initiator For some reason I was thinking that the trigger monitor has to put a message on the initiation queue for channel initiator to activate.

What kind of channel?

Assuming it is a standard SENDER, what does the definition of the XMITQ look like?

There is a default trigger monitor for channels that automatically starts.

This was SDR. The XMITQ is configured for triggering (starting the SDR channel). So there is a default trigger monitor? I have to read about this. Thanks.

The Channel Initiator is the trigger monitor for starting channels; similar to runmqtrm, the trigger monitor for starting applications.

When a message arrives in a triggered queue, the qmgr puts a trigger (event) message in the named initiation queue. The trigger monitor app monitors the init queue, and starts the channel/app.
