We are successfully using wbimb 5 webservices with tomcat and ie01 in production but we would like to have the option in rare circumstances of using the wbimb internal listener in case Tomcat crashes.
We have configured our network balancer to do this and we are able to drive the webservices thru ws client tools using same request url but different port (obviously). Unfortunately our real
ws client application needs to get-wsdl. Through tomcat we have created a path for the wsdls and xsd to be stored but where do we place this wsdl if we are using internal listener? Can it be done ? |

hey guys I realise I'm running an out-of-support release but I thought as a professional forum, I would not just be ignored. It is not my fault that my company is prepared to risk not upgrading.
I have a genuine issue, surely somebody out there (IBM'ers) must have the knowledge to offer an answer.
Let me rephrase the question slightly if it helps encourage a positive response.
Our ws client (not mqsi) has to consume wsdl dynamically before it makes calls (http posts) to our MQSI hosted webservice. Under tomcat control we have created a directory where the files are hosted. The http-get requests are satisfied.
However when we switch to the internal listener these fail. Where in the mqsi directories can we place these files so that the internal http server can respond to the client? |

No version of message broker's internal http listener or soap listener currently supports the "?wsdl" operation.
The internal http listener in v5 is not configured in such a way that you can add any static content (and in fact, again no version of broker supports serving up static content).
Since you're already running in an unsupported configuration, if you are intent on going down this road, you can do some unsupported digging around in the broker install directory, and can do some unsupported mucking about with the http server you'll find in there.
But it's really a terrible idea all around. |

Yet they run the risk of out of support software, forcing you to request help from a professional yet volunteer forum. If you're apparently being ignored it's because a) no-one knows the answer or b) the guy who knows the answer has been too busy to check the forum. We all have day jobs.

Nobody said it wasn't genuine, and nobody "must" have the answer. Even within IBMers you need someone with knowledge going back to WMBv5, knowledge of SOAP & WSDL, the time to log onto the board, and the desire to answer the question.
It's not a deliberate slight. Bring a little patience to the table. And accept we've no SLA & some questions just don't get answers. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Of course someone refuted this before I could submit my post!
This highlights my point - an urgent situation distracted me mid-composition. It's a shame all this work gets in the way of the forum _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
