Hi All,

I am in need to change the service user Id, which I defined while creating the Broker and Config Manager. Actually, the Id was specific to a person and have to change it to follow security protocols.
I have got new MQ Admin ID created but when I try to stop the MQ components using new Id, it is throwing me an error -

# mqsistop <brokerName>
BIP8016E: Unable to stop component.
A request to stop this component was refused.
Investigate the reason for this failure and reissue the command. The problem may be that the component was in the process of being stopped or started, in this case just reissue the command. It may be that the command could not be issued because of insufficient userid permissions. If you are unable to resolve the problem, contact your IBM support center.

I know that mqsichangebroker and related commands can be used to change the password for a specific ID. But is there any way to change the authority of MQ Components (of course, without re-installing all the things from scratch) so that I can use my newId to start/stop MQ components created by my old user Id?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Sandeep

Looks like you're missing something somewhere in group membership.

Anyways it is bad practice to use an individual userid as service id.
The service id should be just that a service id. The individual should then be permitted to either sudo or su to the service id.

Have fun

For mqsistop to work, you will need to run it under the old service user ID.

The service ID can be changed with the mqsichangebroker and the mqsichangeconfigmgr commands. See the Info Center for the syntax.

Then use the new service ID to run mqsistart.

Is that your question? I am not certain what you mean by MQ Components - you are referring to the broker and configuration manager?
