Crashed how?
What have you tried?
Did you try to restart the qmgr?

Problem-determination is an advanced topic. The process of problem-determination generally begins with gathering information.

If you are new to WMQ, are you also new to Windows and UNIX?

First, "crashed" is not a problem; rather, it is a symptom of one or more underlying problems. These underlying problems can be hardware-related, or software-related. For example, did a disk-drive fail? Did the o/s fail?

If no, and no, to the above questions, then you must look in the usual o/s-specific log areas to find out what problems the o/s detected. Then you must look in the usual places where mq captures error data.

In this process, you are (hopefully) narrowing down the possibe causes from many to few.

I apologize if my answer is not specific enough for you. As I mentioned, problem-determination is an advanced topic.

Then I would hazard that if you could not answer the question, or know the diagnostic questions to ask to form an answer, you were not ready for the interview.

Read the manuals, play, make mistakes, induce failures and recover from them, and learn the trade.

I have one additional tip. If you don't like the answers given in the public thread, don't PM people asking for more help.

Especially with interview or certification questions.
