We are planning on setting up a shared environment on 2 windows servers for our Dev and Test environment.
HostA
QMDEV-Active
QMTEST-Standby
HostB
QMDEV-Standby
QMTEST-Active.
HostC
data and log files on NTFSv4 for multi-instance qmgr data.
We can use the same MQ binaries to create qmgrs, but we would like to seperate them as logically as possible. This would help us patch each installation without effecting the other.
Does anyone see any problems with this approach? Can we use the same domain accounts for both installations?
Thanks in advance. |

In your scenario the hosts have to have the exact same MQ version installed.
Outside of the mainframe, IBM only supports one version of MQ to be installed on a machine.
When using Multi Instance QMs on Windows, the QMs can only run on machines that are also Domain Controllers. _________________ Peter Potkay

I'd just love to have an overblown coke machine sat in the corner of my living room (have you seen what a z looks like these days?) but it's the power draw that stops me having one...
