I recently installed MQ 5.2 (base) on my Win 2K notebook, replacing 5.1. SInce then I have had at least half a dozen times when a QM will not start with the following error:

07/09/2001 12:13:20
AMQ7472: Object AMQ.3B4788E300032012, type queue damaged.

EXPLANATION:
Object AMQ.3B4788E300032012, type queue has been marked as damaged. This
indicates that the queue manager was either unable to access the object in the
file system, or that some kind of inconsistency with the data in the object was
detected.

It is always several of the AMQ objects that are damaged and they are associated with GHOST (dynamic?) queues.

Has anyone else experienced this? Initially I wondered if I had a disk problem but have run scans, defrag and PC Doctor and all results clean. Unfortunately it keeps happening with an MQSI Broker QM, and since the QM is no longer accessible, removing the broker and recreating is a bit of a mission!
Any suggestions much appreciated...am planning to install the CSD when I can get hold of it, but the problem is not reported there.

I suggest u try to recreate the object using the command rcrmqobj. If u search for the command rcrmqobj in the MQSeries Information Center(Start->Programs->IBM MQSeries->MQSeries Information Center) it tells u about reacreating objects/a gruop of objects from their images in the log. The damaged object/s is deleted and then recreated using it's image in the log.

I am not sure if that will work for the type of queue you have a problem with.
good luck. gll

I have come across this problem today as well and as yet have not found a solution. Anybody care to open it up again?
