Hello all,
I'm new to working with the SAP Adapter and not exactly sure how the SAP Input node works.
I've searched the documentation but couldn't find much examples.
I've got some questions regarding this, appreciate any kind of input you can give
- If Event Peristence is not configured, is there a chance that messages can be lost for SAP to WMB transfers?
- Can the listeners be running even when the message flow that uses the SAP Input node is stopped?
- If "Max. no of retries in case of system connection failure" is set to zero, does this mean the flow using SAP Input node would stop working if SAP is down ? And the flow would then have to be redeployed?
Thanks,
Smith |

are you talking about transaction mode "Yes". this is similar and most common word used in the Message broker.

I guess you are pointing to Adapter listeners, the adapter listener will be always listening to the SAP Server, even though your message flow is stopped. Adapter lister runs parallely with the message flow.

if the sap couldnt able to connect to message flow - might be due to network failure/sap server down/or the connectivity details got changed.
if the connectivity details got changed- Yes you have to redeploy the Adapter listener as well as flow again. _________________ Regards

Thanks Gaya3
Regarding "Event Persistence", I was referring to the "Advanced" properties in the "SAP Inbound Resource Adapter"
You mentioned about Adapter Listeners always listening to SAP Server. Is there a chance that messages from SAP can get lost if the message flow is stopped ?
We've noticed sometimes for SAP to WMB transfers that although SAP shows the transactions as successfully sent there is no trace of this being received on the broker.
Don't know if this is something to do with the SAP Input node not being configured correctly.
Appreciate any input on this. |
