I'll pass it on to IBM. Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it.

Just for the record: I have registered the problem with IBM whose explanation is that Windows 7 is NOT an approved OS.

When did they tell you that?
Apparently IBM has completed testing of WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 with Windows 7 and has added it to the platform list,

I presume you have your solution by now. For the benefit of other forum readers, the eclipse error discussed in a previous reply can be fixed by altering the WebSphere MQ Explorer shortcut (desktop, programs, command line, where ever) command. Append the '-c' flag thusly:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\strmqcfg.exe" -d -c

The '-c' flag clears the eclipse data cache. This appears to be a problem that is peculiar to the 64 bit Windows 7 OS (and may also be further restricted to specific platforms and perhaps where available memory is > 4GiB as well).

The '-d' flag is specific to the WMQ Explorer invocation as it has no meaning to eclipse that I am aware of.

Hi..,
Even, I am facing the similar issue with my new MQ v7 setup on Windows 2008 R2 plateform. Can you please share the troubleshooting steps suggested by IBM in PMR to resolve this issue

BGRDS,
Umesh

There is no new option in MQ explorer when installed on win 7.

This is a security issue. Right click the command and use run as administrator and the new option should appear.
