Hi floks,
I have installed the mq v6.o in rhel5 under the mqm user
everything went fine but the when is do crtmqm command
I get AMQ8101: WebSphere MQ error (893) has occurred.
and as guided i checked the crtmqm permission seems fine
-r-sr-s--- 1 mqm mqm 239001 May 19 2005 crtmqm
but when is see the groups i guess the root is not the member of mqm group so i editied the /etc/groups file manually ...but now do i have to restart the system to take the effect and does this slove the issues ??
Guys help me out !!!! |

I meant do all WMQ-related tasks as either user mqm, or under a user authorised to be in group mqm. As a general rule, do NOT put root in the mqm group. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Check the kernel settings are correct (see HERE), apply maintenance (see HERE), then try again.

Please install 6.0.2.8 and re-test.
Please check what setting you might have for LD_ASSUME_KERNEL in the environment of the shell... unset it if necessary. |

It has not been necessary to set this environment variable for years now in order to make MQ work - please leave it unset in the shell from which you create/start queue managers etc. |
