Is it possible to connect to remote DB2 database , located on mainframe host from MQSIv6.0.1.3 compute node?

I am planning to connect to mainframe Database from AIX Box using DB2 connect via ODBC.

z/OS is running version 1.9 and we are running DB2 UDB for z/OS v8r1

I have few questions

1) How do I establish the connection between Message Broker and DB2 Connect. what kind of configuration is required for odbc.ini file.

2) what kind of configuration are required for DB2 Connect to access Mainframe Database.

I have Database Name,Mainframe sub system Name,DNS Name with me.

Hey Friends I am in urgent need for a solution.

Thanks in Advance

i am not pretty aware about DB2 Connect.

But we usually keep a DB Client and through that we communicates with the DB Servers.

So you want to execute a query against a user database? You are heading in completely the wrong direction.

Please read the second section of this topic: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r1m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ah14425_.htm

Thnaks for the information..

But why you are saying that I am heading in a wrong direction

MB(AIX)------------>DB2 Connect----------->Mainframe Database

MB(AIX)------------>DB2 Connect( This is the part where I am confused)
How to establish connection between WMB and DB2 Connect via ODBC

..I did not realize that you were talking about the product DB2 Connect. I assumed that you wanted to execute some kind of configuration script starting with 'DB2 connect'.
Sorry for assuming the worst - I should have checked.
