Hi All,
Hope you doing great !!!
I have MQ 7 in clustered environment with 2 nodes (MQNode1-primary and MQNode2-secondary)
Working in Active/Passive mode. (Standby configuration)
I have HACMP for HA (high availability)
And WPS is connecting to MQ as a client you can say.
I am facing an issue that while my MQ fails-over from primary node to secondary node, all of the LP (listener ports) on WPS are stopped, and my whole infrastructure crashes, as my processes need queues to talk to one an other...
I cant understand whether there is some thing wrong with HACMP script, or resource groups are not properly moving , etc. etc.
Can any one guide or please help? How I can resolve the issue?
Waiting for prompt response
Thankx... |

Since you already are talking about MQ 7, I suggest you look at the new HA features of 7.0.1 which no longer require HACMP and might offer a better solution to your problem... _________________ Michael

Hello Micheal,
Thankx for your quick response!!!
I know about the new feature but i am not in the state to move new HA thing...
I have to go with HACMP...
I have found one thing that the ports on which the both nodes are different.. primary 2415 and secondary 2414... may be this is the issue?
Can you guide me how can I make sure that ports are same on both servers?
I am not an expert in MQ and HACMP... i have to get it fixed asap...
Thankx for your help.. |

I suggest then you go look where these values are used and see if you can change them to make it work,
I cannot give you any other advice right now. _________________ Michael

Possibly. If HACMP is failing the "same" queue manager onto the passive node it should have the same attributes on both nodes.

Well either you configure "both" queue managers to have the same attributes or (more typcially) you get HACMP to provide a virtual IP/port combination, expose that to the external app & pipe them through to the physical queue manager that's running.

If you'll pardon me saying so, this makes you an odd choice to work on this. Especially if it needs to be done quickly (typically experienced people work faster). I would push back on whoever's given you this task.[/quote] _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I have complete confidence you'll achieve this goal. My concern was entirely how "asap" you'd be able to achieve a fix in your current (self admitted) newbie state.
I urge you to consider some formal training in addition to experimentation and self-study. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

As we don't know your geographical location, start looking HERE and search on WebSphere MQ. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
