We are migrating from .Net Framework 1.1, MQ V6.0, Windows 2003 to .Net Framework 3.5, MQ V7.0.1.0, Windows 2008. We have observed that with new setup there is delay of 1.5 mins when .net application tries to establish first connection with the Queue. For all next connection there were no delay observed.
Any idea or help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,

From the lack of replies, I'd guess not. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

How are you measuring the delay?
What kind of connection are you using?
How deep is the queue? Is this the first time it's been opened up since the qmgr started?
What have you tried? Are there errors? |

Each time when i run my application and try to connect to MQ it is taking 1.5 mins, this is with very first connection of each execution. In the previous setup (MQ 6.0, Windows 2003, .Net Framework 1.1) it was quick.
Remember the QMgr is running locally.
My first guess goes to IBM fix - IZ43635: DELAYED ACKS SLOW MQ TCP CHANNELS, ESPECIALLY OVER LOOPBACK (url - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg1IZ43635), but i am not sure.
Is there any way to know whether 'delayed acknowledgement for WebSphere MQ channels' is disabled or not? I think if would be able to check this, i might get something to fix.
My another guess goes to - Windows 2008 - in that new security system has been introducted - so might be due to that - but i am sure if that would be the case then IBM would have pointed out or given the fix.
So please, if anybody has any idea and fix - please let me know. |

Try running MQ trace (strmqtrc, endmqtrc) and see if the delay is occurring in the MQ processing. _________________ Glenn |
