Hi,

Just try this command:
Code:
$DISC29 MQM endmqm -h
Usage: endmqm [-z] [-c | -i | -p] QMgrName

And you can see all avaliable parameters. Firstly immediete shutdown (-i) is recommended, but when it won't work you can try -p (preemptive shutdown).

If any process is connected to a qmgr, the controlled shutdown is waiting for disconnect...

We have the OUT pathway server definition to an alternate EMSA colector for every QMGR (ej.- $QM01, $QM11) & the EMSLOG stanza of the QMINI file to this alternate EMSA colector.
If the endmqm (-i /p) not work quickly or bottled then we do:
status *, term $QM31, stop (a kill of all process for this QMGR), after we rename the QMINIMEM file & STRMQM. Amount of time 10 secs.

Luis,

We're using your idea: TERM definition changed to an alternate collector and stopping worked fine and fast, but... some kernel processes keep in OPEN status the renamed QMINIMEM file:
Quote:

$SQLCAT OSSPD 49> fup listopens qmini001

$SQLCAT.OSSPD.QMINI001
PID MODE USERID SD MYTERM PROGRAM FILE NAME
012,15,0000 R -P 255,255 00 $YMIOP.#CLCI $SYSTEM.SYS00.OSIMAGE
012,05,0000 R -P 255,255 00 $YMIOP.#CLCI $SYSTEM.SYS00.OSIMAGE
012,03,0000 R -P 255,255 00 $YMIOP.#CLCI $SYSTEM.SYS00.OSIMAGE
012,11,0000 R -P 255,255 00 $YMIOP.#CLCI $SYSTEM.SYS00.OSIMAGE

Expiration of this processes is different, frequently some minutes but rarely several days!! Had you observe same behavior?

Thanks in advance,

Tibor
