HI,

I have recently set up a backup server for my production.
The production components shows:

[/home/mqm] lslpp -l |grep -i mq
mqm.Client.Bnd 5.3.0.2 COMMITTED WebSphere MQ Client Bundle
mqm.Server.Bnd 5.3.0.2 COMMITTED WebSphere MQ Server Bundle

But whereas my backup server shows:

$ lslpp -l |grep -i mq
mqm.Client.Bnd 5.3.0.1 COMMITTED WebSphere MQ Client Bundle
mqm.Server.Bnd 5.3.0.1 COMMITTED WebSphere MQ Server Bundle

Any idea why the changes when both are configured similarly, with the same support pacs.

What reasons do you think that might explain why the package manager reports a different version of software installed on 2 different machines?

dump all and restart from scratch, making sure you know what you are doing. or pay somebody to do it for you.

May I humbly suggest V6 or even V7 as V7.0.1 is out now.

V5.3 went out of support some time ago.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

If your application hasn't been certified for newer versions of MQ, at the very least try and get latest fix-pac 14
