Hi,
I have set up a production MSCS cluster on windows 2003 and it is working fine on an active /passive mode with one queue manager with a virtual ip address with is working fine.
Now I want to add two more queue managers for this set up
will they listen on the same IP address ? and different port.
I checked the system admin doc nothing clear is mentioned about mutiple queue managers. Any link and steps will be appreciated

If you want.
In general, unless you change the properties of the listener object to specify a specific address, the listener will listen on the port you have configured on the listener on all interfaces. |

Dear Jeff,
Thanks for your reply, the below is the high level tasks done by me for the first queue manager
Following is the high level installation procedure and configuration done by me for a single Qmgr
Now to create the second Qmgr2, I have to perform taks from 3 to 8.
Now the question
If I create the Qmgr2 how about the dependencies on the cluster the shared disk and IPadress can I use the same
and in the parameters can I type Qmgr2 [ Qm name]
1) Install MQ on node 1
2) Install MQ on node 2
3) Create QMgr on node 1
4) Move QMgr data and log files to shared disk(as explained in manual)
5) Put Qmgr under MSCS control(as explained in manual)
6) Test QMgr on node 1
Note : prior to step 7, make sure you close MQ explorer/services windows, Cluster Administrator and register a MSCS Resource Type(IBM Websphere MQ MSCS) reboot the server
7) Simulate failover by using Move Group
This should make the MSCS move the QMgr from node1 to node 2
Any link/doc is highly appreciated |

Do the obvious (to me anyway) - separate MSCS controlled queue managers, so different resources for each. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Hi SAneben, I have a similar requirement... only the number of ndes will vary...
Can you please provide me pointers to any of the documents which will describe these steps? _________________ -----------------------------------------------

Try the SAG, or hitting the Info Centre and searching on MSCS - it's not rocket science _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
