Hi

Please can someone tell me how WMQ7 on solaris 10 is working in regards to triggering a perl script. The trigger monitor is running as mqm.

The perl script details are shown below is from a ls -l

-rwxr-xr-x 1 ua1eagle eagle 61275 Sep 17 16:40 AIFG_instance.pl

I put debug print statements in the script to outputs the environment variables LOGNAME, USER, and output of the id command

The output of which is shown below

LOGNAME = ua1eagle
USER = ua1eagle
id = uid=2003(ua1eagle) gid=2000(eagle) euid=2200(mqm) egid=2200(mqm)

now the script works as expected.

BUT
what i dont understand (because in another environment, i get different output and the script doesnt work) is if the trigger monitor is running as mqm when it runs the perl script, it looks like from the outputted variables that its running as ua1eagle. why isnt it running as mqm ( from your help with this, may help me to fix the problem with the other environment)

hope this make sense

You might want to make sure that the permissions on runmqtrm are the same in both systems. (-rwxr-xr-x ??)

Hi

Solved it.

The QMgr was built as a HA Qmgr using MC91. In the documentation it said that you had to make sure that the ha scripts were owned and grouped by mqm before you build the QMgr

the ha scripts that i had were owned by ts2mqm and grouped by mqm
So I guess thats was what the difference was, when i deleted the QMgr where i was getting the error, and built it properly with the ha scripts owned by mqm and grouped by mqm. the trigger monitor started to work as expected

So i guess it was a case of read the manual

Thank you all
