Hi,
I am not able to deploy message flows. In the alert window it says 'execution group is not running' although i have started all the necessary services. How do i start a execution group. At times it gets deployed, and when i remove the deployed files the operation does not succeed. Can any1 help me out on this?

You (in normal circumstances) don't start execution groups. They are started when the broker starts and the first time anything is deployed to them after they are created.

What platform is the broker running on and what version of broker (inc fixes) are you using.

I'd take a look at the system logs for the machine where the broker is running. If the EG (aka DataFlowEngine) is starting and keeling over then there should be something logged.

Have you tried deleting the EG? Does this work?

Please let us know what things you have tried. This avoids you replying "I've done that already"

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

Have you tried right-clicking on the execution group and selecting 'Start'?

You can start the execution group in this way. a EG get starts automatically once the message flow is deployed on the EG and message flow is running.

ram_svnit,

have you checked that DataFlow engine process are running? if it is unix then check ps -ef | grep DataFowEngine

As told by smdavies99 you need to provide the error details from the system logs.

cheers,
aditya

Did you check the 'Event Log' in the 'Broker Administration' perspective for deployment errors?
If the flow can't be deployed, there may be no reason to have the execution group running.

Cheers, Iwan

We don't have an option to start the EG by right clicking on it, any ways right click on the Configuration Manager and cancel all the Deployment for twice or thrice..and disconnect the configMgr and re connect...It will work..
