SupportPac MS0P is now available for compatibility with the V7 Explorer. Lots of new function too. It does more than just format event messages.

See http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24011617&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

Looks good but it requires V7 explorer....

Back in the real world - is there a version that works with V6 explorer (or can I still find the previous version somewhere?)

New version now available from http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24011617&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

Supports WMQ V7.0.1 features. Prereq is a 7.0.0.1 Explorer (or later) to install into.

* Remote Administration updates to support:

    Viewing and deletion of FFDC files
    Controlling multi-instance queue managers, including start, stop and status options
    Global security settings can be used for Windows machines
    TCP port number can be overridden for each protocol
    Preference settings can be exported and imported using WMQ Explorer panels
    Added timeout preference for long-running commands

* CSV Plug-in

    Update to understand Sets views

* Events and Statistics

    Automatic discovery of available event queues
    Configuration event preferences to exclude MQSET
    Configuration change events preference to show only differences
    Some cosmetic changes to menu layouts, including making z/OS more consistent
    Preference settings can be exported and imported using WMQ Explorer panels
    Ability to set maximum activities for trace route operations
    Ability to specify a remote queue manager for trace route operations
    Activity viewer now logs to CSV file

* Removal of precompiled forms of the Command Event Exit as WMQ V7.0.1 makes it redundant
* Added QTune utility
* Added MQIDecode utility to to turn numbers into MQI symbolic names
* Added OAM log utility (previously SupportPac MS07)

I've been using this support pac for a little while now, and have recommended it to several people.

One customer is still bound to MQ V6, but would like to use the supportpac, is there a v6 compatible version still available from anywhere?

There's no available version for the V6 Explorer. But even if you're mostly using V6, you could use MS0T for that V7 Explorer experience without upgrading everything else.

I still use MQ Explorer v6 on a PC too. (the rest my comment was removed)

Mark, since IBM is still supporting MQ Explorer v6, you should support MS0P or at least make it available for both WMQ v6 and v7.

Roger, that's great, Mark, your suggestion is a very good one.

I'll take up both and see what the customer prefers.

Thank you very much, both of you.

There will. But no date for it at the moment. Remote admin has got a bit more complex with the possibility of multiple versions in random locations.

But there will also be some new function to discover in the message browser...

MS0P would be a great thing to make a standard feature of WMQ.

I have downloaded MSOP latest version and it says:

Code:
The plugins in this package can only be installed in the MQ Explorer that is part of MQ V7.1 or V7.5

My MQ Version is:

Code:
Name:        WebSphere MQ
Version:     7.0.1.8
CMVC level:  p701-108-120224
BuildType:   IKAP - (Production)

My Websphere MQ Explorer Version is: 7.0. Can't I download a supportpac which supports Verstion 7.0 explorer? If so, could someone provide me the link?

Thanks

Download MS0T.

Use MS0P for MQ 7.1 or 7.5 from within that.

Thanks for your reply. I am exploring the options with this explorer for a requirement for one of our application teams. There is an application A which puts messages to a queue Q and another application B gets messages from the same queue Q. The requirement from both teams is that we need to tell them the no of messages put by application A and no of messages consumed application B for a given a day or whenever they need (no time interval). I downloaed MS0T and playing around with the option for accounting and statistics.

For accouunting features, I can see the accounting info only for a duration and if the application does not disconnect from the queue manager, it does not update the info about no of puts and gets.

The documentation I have read says:

Code:
Is there a way we can get accounting inof like no of puts and gets at any given time for a particular queue?
