Hi Guys,

We have standard MQ client with version 6.0.2.1. If we want to upgrade it to the latest maintenance level, can we install the latest fix pack for MQ server, so that the fixes corresponding to MQ client would be applied.

or

Do we need to uninstall the existing client and install the latest client?

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Installing fixpack on existing MQ client will work.

There is not a separate FixPack package for client and server.

for example : say mq version 6.0.2.1 and you upgrade the maintenance level to 6.0.3.0, Now your package will be able to use the features of mq till level 3, ofcourse you can install the fix packs and can have it as 6.0.3.1 or 6.0.3.2 etc.

I searched on the word "maintenance" in just the client manual.

Of course, if you install the client from the Server CD, you would just apply maintenance the same way as you do for servers.
