One of our application is using MQ client to connect to the QM. I have secured the SVRCONN using SSLs with SSLCIPH values and it runs fine. I havent coded in the SSLPEER values on the MQ client app yet. But the SSLPEER values are coded on the SVRCONN. Still the channel surprisingly runs. Are SSLPEER values optional? If so if you have incorrect SSLPEER values coded in the channel doesnt start(as per other posts I saw). What is the reality with these PEER values?

From your search, what are the possible values of SSLPEER?

I am coding CN and OU values. Can you tell me, if these values are incorrect, will the channel start or not? (as the channel starts even if I dont specify the values)

What other SSL values might control whether SSLPEER is used or not?

The WMQ Security manual has a section entitled WebSphere MQ rules for SSLPEER values.
