Hi

According to IBM documentation channel status can be:

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv6/v6r0/topic/com.ibm.mq.csqzae.doc/ic14720_.htm?resultof=%22%63%68%61%6e%6e%65%6c%22%20%22%73%74%61%74%75%73%22%20%22%73%74%61%74%75%22%20

INIT INITIALIZING
BIND BINDING
START STARTING
RUN RUNNING
STOP STOPPING or STOPPED
RETRY RETRYING
REQST REQUESTING
DOUBT STOPPED and INDOUBT(YES)

For sure this is valid for sender channel, which of them will not ever be shown for receiver channel, e.g. can a receiver channel be in a biding state?
Can anyone find and document which clarifies this topic?

Thanks in advance for help

What did your reading of the WMQ Intercommunications manual reveal? What did your research reveal?

If the channel is up and running, we see the receiver channel status as RUNNING and if the channel is not running, you can see the channel status as STOPPED.

If the channel is not active and do a DIS CHS(receiver channel), you will see channel status not found.

Just sharing my observations.

Thanks.

So what about the INACTIVE status?

I dont think your list is exhaustive and may not have helped the OP answer his original question!

Only if 'someone' (note the quotes, and think why I have quoted it) has issued a STOP command, otherwise it will be INACTIVE...please think before posting

exerk and I were not debating that. We were objecting to you over simplified definition of channel status' to determine if a channel is running or not.
