Hi,
We are using Websphere MQ 6.0 Server and it is running on the solaris 8. I am looking for Windows client which can connect to MQ server 6.0 on solaris box. Please feel free to share any materials or links which you think will be helpful for installing the client software. I googled, but didnt find any useful material.
Thanks

The read me in the support pac or the Windows doc will tell you about installation.
The clients manual will describe how to configure the client connection (which doesn't vary by platform)
Both docs are in the info centre _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for the info. I installed the MQ Client for Windows XP. I need to set the channel information in the following file.
C:\Program Files\IBM\Websphere MQ\amqclchl.tab
but i dont see that file.
I dont know where did i go wrong?
In addition to that, When i click prepare MQ Wizard, the following options are disabled:
Launch Websphere MQ Explorer
Thanks

You no need to use chltable. You can use the SVRCONN channel in connecting.
Try either SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN or SYSTEM.AUTO.SVRCONN. If you get 2035 try to contact your MQ Admin.
Thanks. |

You didn't read the Clients manual. If you had, you'd know that file is built by the queue manager when you define the channel information. Do not create or edit it directly.

Because it's not part of the client install. Install it separately from a server media or it's support pac. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Not for all situations, but in principle yes. This too can be learned by reading the Clients manual. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I installed MQ Explorer 7.0 Client on Windows system. I am able to connect to the remote queue manager and able to see the local queues but i am unable to see the SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE etc. I used to see them in the MQ Explorer 6.0 on LInux System.
Thanks
