Hi,

(1) I want to know the column lengths for TOPIC, FILTER, QueueManager Name & Queue Name provided in the broker subscriptions table name, to limit my values for those in the Subscription inputs.

My idea is correct or not??

(2) Could somebody tell me what will be the z/os broker table name looklike (which stores the MQ Subscriptions)?

Regards.

The QueueName & Queue Manager Name should have the same value (for maximum size) as used by WMQ.
Neither of these are represented by columns in the subscriptions table.

The filter & Topic are defined as BLOBS in DB2 on Windows (uising the DB2 control Centre to view the table) and therefore have a size of 1073741824

Why do you want to know this?

IMHO, it is not a good idea to go around manipulating the contents of Broker Database tables from within a Flow (or externally for that matter)

Thanks smdavies99,

I wanted to know these information because I'm creating separate table for Email Subscriptions. So, wanted to align the lengths of columns with broker table.

BTB, I found the broker table for subscriptions, there are no columns for Qs and QMs, as you mentioned. Thanks for that.

So, for a Remote system, we will register a subscription with Remote Queue Definition with the local QM, right?

The TOPIC and FILTER column lengths are mentioned as BLOB(4) in the broker database, So I can have enough space for the requirement.

you need not create an RQD if your transmission queue name is same as remote queue manager name and you are on MQ6 and above

simply register the subscription with broker with remote qm and q name.

Hi Akanksha,

Yes, we have MQ V 6.0.

You mean to say that:
My transmission queue name = Queue Name at Remote Queue Manager ?? (or)
My transmission queue name = Remote Queue Manager Name ??

Could you please confirm me?
