Hi,

I have got a similar situation here, it is about removed clusters not the right way, and still have problem.
The WMQ explorer not shows the channel, but I can see it with mqsc, but can not delete, only stop.
Strange...
I tried RESET CLUSTER command, but it says the QMGR must be a repository for this FIXT2 cluster.
Someone could help how can I delete this channel?
I do not need this cluster and objects.
Thanks a lot!

Please do not resurrect old threads...start a new one!

Sort out the in-doubt, then go through the clusters manual for the recovery actions necessary.

It must be an autodefined channel. You cannot delete auto definition.

Code:
I tried RESET CLUSTER command, but it says the QMGR must be a repository for this FIXT2 cluster.

Thats because you can only issue a RESET cluster command from full repository.

exerk,
thanks for the new topic.

queuemanager,
I tried RESET CLUSTER on the full repository.

Now, that I can issue a stop command on the channels, the log is not filled with
AMQ9507: Channel 'FIXT2_HOSTQM' is currently in-doubt.
messages.

Maybe the problem is solved.

Is that PR where you are getting this channel problem? If so, you need to use, REFRESH CLUSTER (CLUSNAME) REPOS(YES) instead of RESET CLUSTER which is for full repos only.

Nothing happens.
Maybe, I can remake this FIXT2 cluster, and do a better cleanup?
What do You think?
(these messages come up every hour in the error log)

what did you expect to happen? or what actions did you perform?

you said you were able to stop the channel. so.... if you now issue display commands for cluster qmgrs and cluster objects, are you now fine with your setup or do you still see objects you need to clean up?

of course you can start defining everything again and then doing a "better" cleanup, but i would go for the displays first.

So, the problem is only, that I have plenty messages in the error logs, but I do not have any cluster objects with FIXT2.
Maybe somebody did a bad cleanup, or something.
With MQ Explorer or in MQSC I can not see the channels!
But if I issue "stop channel ..." it says, it is a known channel.

you do not see in in the mq explorer because either the mq explorer s*cks (as he sometimes does) or because (what i assume) the channel is a implicit defined cluster sender channel.
if you use runmqsc and issue a display clusqmgr(*) all, do you see that channel? and is it indoubt? could you please post the output?

did you try the resolve channel command that is mentioned in the error message? looks like there is still a unit of work open for this channel. do you have any uncomitted messages in SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE (or any other local queue)?
As you do not seem to care about this cluster, i'd try a resolve channel action(commit) trying to get rid of that indoubt status, then continue with cluster cleanup

Mr Butcher,

You were right, I have message in the S.C.TRANSMIT.Q about this FIXT2 cluster.

display clusqmgr(*) all says the following:
AMQ8441: Display Cluster Queue Manager details.
CLUSQMGR(HOSTQM) CHANNEL(FIXT2_HOSTQM)
CLUSTER(FIXT2)

I tried to resolve, it says
resolve channel(FIXT2_HOSTQM) action(commit)
AMQ8025: WebSphere MQ channel resolved.

What now?
I still have the same messages in S.C.TRANSMIT.Q

Do the cleanup like IBM says here?

following the documented procedure to remove a queuemanager from the cluster is a really good idea

Yes, because that's what should have been done in the first instance...
